The following recent case summaries are representative of the actual victories Mr. Moore won for his clients. Client full names not disclosed to respect their privacy.
People v. J.F., Client was charged with a Class X Armed Robbery after being picked out in a lineup by the victim. After a 4-day jury trial with multiple witnesses testifying against the client, he was found not guilty of all charges after Mr. Moore established that the police investigation was deficient, and the identification was unreliable.
People v. A.S., Client was arrested for Obstruction as a result of his confrontation with several Chicago Police Officers. A jury found client not guilty of all charges after Mr. Moore exposed discrepancies in the officers’ testimony.
People v. K.B., Client was arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance after police raided his home. Mr. Moore successfully exposed the weaknesses in the State’s case and all charges were dismissed after the Preliminary Hearing.
People v. A.C, Client was found with crack cocaine after being stopped for a traffic violation. All charges were dismissed after Mr. Moore showed that Chicago Police officers did not have probable cause.
People v. A.R., Client contacted my office after being arrested after a Chicago Police Tactical Team claimed they observed him deliver narcotics to another subject. Upon his arrest police recovered a loaded handgun in his waistband. Mr. Moore filed a Motion to Suppress the Evidence after thoroughly researching the law. The Motion was granted based on the officers violating the client’s 4th Amendment Rights. The gun was suppressed, and the State was forced to dismiss all charges.
People v. C. S., Chicago Police Tactical Team stopped the client for a traffic violation and recovered a weapon from his vehicle. The client was charged with a Class X felony of Armed Habitual Criminal with a maximum sentence of 30 years IDOC. Mr. Moore had the court suppress the weapon after successfully establishing that the police had violated the client’s Civil Rights. The State was forced to dismiss all charges.
People v. D.P., Client’s charge of Possession of a Controlled Substance was dismissed after Mr. Moore established that the police did not have probable cause to arrest.
People v. D.N., The Chicago Police found the client in possession of a loaded handgun after stopping him for a traffic violation. He was charged with a Class 4 Felony of Unlawful Use of a Weapon. After putting together a mitigation package for the State, Mr. Moore successfully convinced the prosecutor to reduce the felony charge to a misdemeanor.
People v. D.L., After Chicago Police Tactical Team raided the client’s home, they found a large amount of narcotics and charged him with Possession of a Controlled Substance. After Mr. Moore established that the police had no probable cause to link the narcotics to the client, the court dismissed all charges.
People v. J.W., After Cicero Police officers stopped the client, found him in possession of a loaded handgun, and charged him with a Class 4 Non-Probational Felony. Mr. Moore convinced the State to reduce the charge to a misdemeanor avoiding time in the penitentiary.
People v. C.B., Client was on probation for a prior weapons offense when Chicago Police arrested him for a second weapons offense. He was charged with a Class 2 felony punishable by up to 14 years in prison. After analyzing the reports and video related to his confession, Mr. Moore filed a motion to suppress his statements finding that the client’s Civil Rights had been violated to gain his confession. Upon receiving the motion, the State agreed to drop the charge to a Class 4 felony giving him probation for a second time. Because of Mr. Moore’s experience as a former prosecutor, the client avoided a lengthy prison sentence due to a technicality.
People v. J.H., The client was pulled over for a traffic violation and found to be in possession of a loaded firearm and narcotics. Mr. Moore questioned the stop and was able to have client’s Felonies reduced to a Misdemeanor.
